They owed me close to $2,000. I was so upset with myself that I hadn’t kept a better eye on my receipts. This experience taught me to keep track of outstanding commissions by following a system.
I was pretty lucky with this case, as I was able to receive the full amount due to me when I emailed the owner and inquired when I was going to get paid. Almost instantaneously, I was compensated. This was a close call because I thought for sure I would have had to take a loss.
The next month – I received payment from all others except that troublesome affiliate company. It took about two to three reminders before I received payment. During the following month, when I reminded the company about sending payment, they informed me that a check was already posted in my name. I never received any check, so I waited until the old check was canceled and new payment was sent out once again.
While the check might have very well been posted, I have to tell you that this is one of the oldest methods of stalling. This incident captured my immediate attention. It started to become clear that I would have to track down my commission payments with this company on a monthly basis. My books also showed that it was taking longer as each month passed to actually receive money owed.
I'm not sure what the issue was (perhaps the owner of the company lacked organization) but I didn’t need to waste my time chasing after my payment every month. I really liked the products they offered, but I still decided to end our business relationship. It isn't that hard to pay affiliates on time, as all the other reliable companies I worked with had no problem paying my commission on time. I didn’t even have to remind them once.
Therefore, when seeking products for promotion, always conduct a bit of research on a potential affiliate company to see what other people are saying. If a company displays a lot of complaints – look elsewhere. Plenty of reliable affiliate companies await your efforts, so you really have no need to waste time with scams.

Almost everybody nowadays owns a website, but what good is it when NOBODY knows about it ?
What you want is traffic, thousands of hits per day. Maybe you have some affiliate links on your site and hope to make a few bucks off it. Or maybe you got a blog and want loads of people to join in your discussion.

Is Working At Home For You ??
Working at home has always been a dream for millions of people. After all, who wants to spend their entire life in a thankless job for very little pay? All of us want a little more out of life than what we actually have now. Working at home seems like the answer to so many of our problems. So, we ask ourselves...is working at home, for me ??
If you decide to work at home, you should not make this decision lightly. It is not for everyone. A home based business, as comfortable as it may seem, carries a significant amount of risk with it. There is always a possibility that the business will fail. However, if you do research and make good decisions right from the start, you will set a solid foundation for the years ahead. There are many advantages to working at home. For many, not having to go to the office daily, is incentive enough. Imagine not having to waste countless hours being stuck in rush hour traffic or paying a small fortune filling your car's tank. When you work at home you take control of your time and decide how to spend it. You set the hours. Of course, this can be a double edged sword. If you are not the disciplined type, you might end up procrastinating on the responsibilities associated with a home based business, or perhaps not do them at all. Welcome !!!
I started this blog in order to share with others, my experiences looking for home employment opportunities.
Although I really like my current job, I have been doing it for over 23 years now and aside from being grossly underpaid, I was tired of working for someone else. I feel its now time to start a new page in my career history. Things are now changing for me in my personal life, where working at home would be a more appropriate venue.
Over the past few months I've been searching in earnest, for a job where I can work from home and make a decent salary. I've learned a lot and have found useful information which I plan on sharing with my readers.
I'm hoping that my "Work From Home" blog will benefit those of you also seeking home employment and I welcome you to share your experiences.
